Education


The CFA Society of Naples encourages its members to earn the CFA Charter and supports candidates by sponsoring CFA exam study groups, scholarships, discounts, and other programs. Several candidate resources are detailed in the menu at the right of this page.

The society is also a strong supporter of local university students who are interested in a career in investments and financial services. Each year, the society grants scholarships to help university students finance their education. Please see the menu at the right for more information on applying for the university scholarship or other student services.

For candidates interested in learning more about the CFA exam, we encourage you to visit AnalystForum, the world's largest online community of CFA candidates. Candidates can find access to study materials and an online forum to share study techniques and progess.

CFA Exam Scholarships

The CFA Society of Naples and CFA Institute are offering scholarships for the December and June Chartered Financial Analyst exams for candidates in the Southwest Florida area who have a demonstrated desire and ability to excel in the financial services profession. These scholarships help cover the cost of exam registration.

CFA Review Course Discounts

The CFA Society of Naples has arranged for discounted pricing and study material scholarships from two premiere CFA exam test preparation providers, Kaplan Schweser and Becker Stalla.

If purchasing Schweser study materials, please enter the coupon code "Everglades" to receive a 15% discount off the retail price. Candidates also have the opportunity to take a Schweser mock exam at the heavily-discounted price of $49.

Schweser and Stalla both offer scholarships to help candidates with the cost of study preparation packets. Please email our Education Chair for an application.

Also, the CFA Society of South Florida sponsors a weekly review course for Levels I and II. The course is held weekly on the campus of Florida Atlantic University. Please visit the CFA South Florida website if you are interested in more information.

Student Services

University Scholarships

The CFA Society of Naples awards scholarships to local business students in the Spring of each year. Applications will be available in March, and students who are entering their Senior year will be eligible to apply.

Global Investment Research Challenge

Local CFA societies and the CFA Institute host and launch local-level competitions of the Global IRC in conjunction with the participating universities. The universities assemble teams of three to five business and finance students who work directly with a company in researching and preparing a company analysis.

The teams' final presentations are locally evaluated by high-profile panels of heads of research, portfolio managers, and chief investment officers from the world's top firms.

The local champions advance to regional competitions in the Americas, Asia, and Europe and then to the global finale.
